We're pleased to be running our mini-kids soccers school again during the 2010/2011 school year.
The school is aimed at Year 1 and Year 2 childre. Girls as well as boys. This year the school will be run by Ben Mills and Ian Brown.
The school runs at Hayfield Primary School every Saturday morning from 9:30am til 10:30am. Everybody is welcome
Sorry I've been a bit lazy in updating the website but registration has been a much bigger job this year than it was last year. If you have still not completed your Hayfield or League registration forms we need them back ASAP. We don't want to resort to naming and shaming!
We've got off to an excellent start this season. Both the U9s and U11s have recorded their first wins. The U10s are still to get off the mark but they're a good team and we know it will happen very soon.
We'd like to thank everyone who's helped over the summer working on the pitches and installing goalposts. Let's hope they get many years usage.
Hayfield Junior Football Club are now recruiting for the 2010/2011 season. We cater for children from 5 - 11 with our soccer school and Under 9s, 10s and 11s teams.
All coaches are CRB checked and all hold at least the FA Level 1 certificate. All are first aid trained and have attended child protection courses.
If you want your child to play football in a safe learning environment where the emphasis is always on FUN please get in touch. Contact our Chairman, Carl Dean on 07855 399140 for more information
Well done to Aaron Ryder from Whaley Bridge who has won £50 in the World Cup Quiz.
Aaron got all of the answers right and was closest on the tie-breaker. The attendance, according to the FIFA website was a surprisingly low 84,490. Aaron was just 510 out with his guess of 85,000.
The winning sheet was sold by junior Lewis Chadwick. For his efforts Lewis wins a Champions League football.
The answers were:
We've raised over £300 so a big well done to everyone who sold the sheets.
Don't forget it's the AGM at the Cricket Club on Thursday night - 7:30pm. We hope to see as many of you there as possible.
Also - we need your World Cup Sheets and monies. Hand them in to Carl, Steve, Peter, Dave or Ben or post them through 17 Kinder Road before 10th June.
To be held on Thursday 10th June 2010 at 7:30pm at Hayfield Cricket Club. All parents are welcome.
Agenda
The league presentations will take place on Sunday 16th May at Stockport Plaza.
The Under 9's presentation takes place at 11:00am - doors open at 10:40am.
The Under 10's presentation takes place at 12:30pm - doors open at 12:15pm.
Some details from the league:
Parking is on street (very limited) or at the Multi-Story Car Park (entrance on Petersgate)
Because of the design of the theatre access and egress is through the same doors and in order to avoid chaos would you please wait in Mersey Square until the “door opening” time above.
Your cooperation in this is vital as we need to be able to clear the theatre between presentations.
Please ensure all parents are aware of this and we look forward to your assistance in ensuring an enjoyable and stress free presentation.
This weekend's U9 friendly (Peter's team) is at Spurley Hey, Hulme Street, Off Hempshaw Lane, Offerton (map)
Kick off is 10:00am - please try to get there for 9:30am
It's that time of year again and we'll be running the FA Soccer Star Challenge. It's a series of six tests that allow our players to pitch their skills against tens of thousands of children throughout the country.
The challenge will start at 10:00am on Saturday morning. It takes around an hour and a half to complete.
We'll present the Soccer Star Challenge certificates on our Presentation Night on 21st May.
Good luck everyone!
Don't forget the mini-kids soccer school has switched to Sundays now that the cricket season is upon us. 10:30am at the school. Ben and Carl look forward to seeing you back after the Easter break.
Our World Cup Quiz is a great way for us to raise funds and an even better way for you to win £50.
Simply download the quiz and print it off. Complete it and return it to Carl at the address on the sheet no later than June 10th 2010. Each entry is only £2.
If you're a junior you can win a prize if you've sold the winning sheet. The more you sell the more chances you'll have.
Good luck everyone!
We've got a number of things that we need to raise money for. These include training for our coaches and parent helpers, new goalposts for next season's Under 11 side and there's the floodlight project at the school which needs upto £10,000!!!
If you can help to raise some money, have a rich uncle, or maybe work for a company who might like to help please give Carl a ring on 01663 747580.
We've asked City & United for some raffle prizes for our presentation night. I think we'll have to keep our fingers crossed on that but if you can donate a prize or know somebody who might please get in touch.
Our presentation night this year will again be at the Royal Hotel in Hayfield. It will be on Friday 21st May from 7:30pm. More details to follow. We're hoping to have a very special guest!
We're pleased to announce that Dave Aitken has agreed to be next season's U9 coach. This means that we can run U11, U10 and U9 teams.
... for this season anyway!
Tonight will be our last visit to Chapel Leisure Centre for trainnig. The clocks go forward this weekend which will make the evenings light enough to train on the hallowed turf that is Bank Vale.
Don't forget your boots for training next week!
The U9s are at home this weekend. It's the first of four home games for them.
The U10s are away at Woodley Albion. Kick-off is a little later than normal at 11:00am. Please try to be there half an hour before.
Woodley Albion play at Bredbury Green Primary School, Clapgate, Romiley, SK6 3DG
Because of today's bad weather, we're unable to run training tonight (03/02/2010). Let's hope it clears up before the weekend.
Both teams are away to Cheadle & Gatley this weekend, although the U10s have an early start of 10:00am (earlier if everyone is ready). Steve has asked that everyone try to get to William Scholes playing fields in Gatley (SK8 4LT) for 9:30am.
As far as we know this weekend's fixtures are ON!!!
The Under 9s are away at Spurley Hey (Banks Lane School). It's a LATE KICK-OFF at 11:45am. Try to get there early
The Under 10s are also away. They're at Mountfield Rovers (Lumb Lane). Kick-off is 10:30am, please try to get there for 10:00am.
The snow has gone so barring any more bad weather the mini-kids soccer school will also be back on Saturday morning. See you there.
Yet again we're beaten by the snow. There'll be no U9/U10 trainig this Wednesday (13th Jan '10) because the astroturf is still covered in snow.
Come back to the website on Friday to see what the situation is for the weekend's games (don't build your hopes up!)
In the meantime here's some skills to try at home. Some you'll even be able to do indoors!
UPDATE - Saturday 16th January
As predicted it's still too snowy/icy for any games or the soccer school. Let's hope next week brings some warmer/drier weather.
It will come as no surprise to you to learn that all games and this weekend's mini-kids soccer school are cancelled because of the bad weather.
Keep your fingers crossed for a thaw before next weekend.
Happy New Year everyone. Let's hope we have a great footballing year!
Unfortunately the snow means our season will resume a little later than we'd like. Because of the treacherous conditions we're cancelling training this week (Wednesday 6th '10). It's highly unlikely that this weekend's games will be played but check the website on Friday for up to date information.
