DCFA Come to Hayfield

Last night we were pleased to welcome Cath Morton from Derbyshire County FA. Cath, who is the County Welfare Officer and Respect Lead Officer, gave us an entertaining presentation on the FA's Respect campaign.

Following the event Cath said, "It was great to see so many people involved from the club supporting the event and everyone was so welcoming. It was rewarding for me that so many people especially the children got involved in my presentation and answered questions - I deliver a lot of talks and get no response or blank faces looking at me so please pass on my thanks to everyone."

Thanks also go to Eric Eaton for organising the event and to Peter Easter for running the quiz.

Mini-Kids Soccer School - Half Term Details

Our mini-kids soccer school will end on Saturday 15th October and resume after the half-term break on Saturday 5th November.

After the break our Y2 gang will be getting ready for their first friendly match to be played against our U8 team on Sunday November 27th.

Homework to keep you busy over the break is to continue practising throw-ins and to work on your shooting and passing.

Have a great break and I'll see you in November!

Are you U10, U11 or U12? We Need You!

Our U10, U11 and U12 teams are all recruiting for players for this season? Whether you're a midfield dynamo, a hot shot striker or a footballing journey man there's a place for you at Hayfield.

Our club policy is that every child who wants to play does play. All coaches do their very best to make sure every player has the same amount of game time and maximum fun.

Get in touch with Carl on 07855 399140 and we'll find a spot for you in one of our squads. Our U10 and U11 teams are looking for boys as well as girls so don't be shy!

Mini-Kids Soccer School Restarts Saturday 10th September

Just a quick note to let you know that our Year 1/Year 2 soccer school restarts for its third year this Saturday morning. There's a slight change in format in that we'll be running seperate sessions for Y1 and Y2 school children. This is to reduce the group size for each year which should give the children more coach time.
  • Year 1: 11:00 - 12:00
  • Year 2: 09:30 - 10:30

The soccer school is being run by Carl again after a year off with the U9/8s. It takes place on the hard-court area at Hayfield Primary School so no boots are needed, just trainers. Please send your child along with water and ideally some shin-pads.

If you need more information please contact Carl on 07855 399140.

Hayfield FC - We Need Your Pictures and Stories

Bill Jones, played for Hayfield St Matthews before signing for Liverpool

Did you know that once upon a time, Hayfield FC graced the same league as teams that went on to be Manchester United, Manchester City, Stockport County and Crewe Alexandra!?

We may be some way from the dizzy heights of the premier league these days but the story of Hayfield FC is a fascinating one. The club's chairman, Nick Hallam, is compiling a history of the football club. The proceeds will go to the club's continued support of the juniors.

If you've got any pictures, stories, medals or newspaper cuttings about the club please get in touch with Nick or give him a call on 07836 706459.
