It was the first week of the new season this week. We played our last pre-season friendly against New Mills and started the season today against Lisbon and Droylsden.
Against New Mills Under 10s A our boys played fantastically well and ran out as 3-0 winners. Our Under 9s faired less well against a strong New Mills Under 10s B team losing 6-0.
Today our U9s kicked off their season at home against Lisbon St Anthony's B. Lisbon are a well organise team with some very determined and confident players. Lisbon won 10-2, with Hayfield's goals scored by Alex Aitken and an absolute scorcher from Owen Peatfield.
Owen was our Man of the Match. Well done Owen!
At Droylsden Juniors our U10s met an equally good and organised team. Droylsden won 7-1 with Jacob Winfield getting his first Hayfield league goal. Callum Gerrard was Man of the Match after a tireless performance covering every blade of grass.
